Painted while staying with her brother Charles in Rajasthan

For several years in the mid 1920’s Vera took her daughters to the coastal North Italian town of Diano Marina for months at a time, enrolling them in the local convent school. While there she painted many pictures of the Italian country side, including this of the nearby town of Diano Castello.
